World Wildlife Fund

World Wildlife Fund

One of my favorites!  For over 45 years, the WWF has worked to protect the future of nature and is the world’s leading conservation organization.  Their focus is on all aspects of the environmental issues our planet faces.  For without a healthy home, none of us will survive.

I particularly love their Symbolic Adopt a Species program.  They offer 100 different at risk species to choose from.  A $50 donation nets you a picture, an information card and the most adorable stuffed animal of your species that you could ever want!  The uniqueness of the animals is what really caught my eye.  Where else can you get a stuffed Hellbender Salamander or a Stingray or a Wombat?  Here is a picture of my latest adoption, the Pileated Woodpecker.  He sits on Beloved’s computer.

Check out the links to the WWF home page and the Adopt a Species program. The plushies make great gifts for both adults and kids!  If stuffed animals aren’t your thing, they have a really nice online gift shop too.

I also support some other animal/wildlife related charities. If you are interested to read about any of them I have a few blog posts under the title “Cupcake for Charity”… this is the latest one
. All of these posts feature links to different charities. One that might interest you is Animals Asia, who are doing amazing work right now (and are in great peril due to corrupt politics) and who have a wonderful offer with moon bear toys for supporters 🙂 All the best to you!
